RACE REPORT: CARNSVILLE, GA – THANKSGIVING THUNDER
Written By: Ryan Heavner Racing
12/1/08 There was a record breaking crowd for the race weekend in Carnesville, GA and in the Jr. class 44 competitors tried for 30 starting spots. Ryan qualified in 5th position and since this was his first ever Jr. Unrestricted race we were very proud
When the feature event rolled around, he held his own as best he could. Our Crew chief missed his tire set-up and he was able to maintain his position until just after 1/2 way through the race. By this time the kart started to push and Ryan held on to finish 9th giving up 2 positions on the final lap. Either way, for his first ever Jr. Unrestricted race, he was pumped up and excited and did a great job wheeling the Icon, Tod Miller powered machine.
Friday, we were scheduled to compete in the Blue Lite and the Jr. Pro Blue and on Saturday we were scheduled for the Blue Heavy and Jr. Big Dog Championship race. However, mother nature allowed the rain to damper our whole weekend and the races were called off.
This was the final weekend for Ryan ending his 2008 season. However, we have had some phone calls asking Ryan to consider driving for a few different teams and attend the make-up show over New Years Weekend. I will keep everyone updated as to his schedule and he may be pulling double duty running a house ride in the karting division in addition to the Pro Challenge Season we start in 2009.
We will keep you informed to too what and where we will be as soon as our schedule allows!!
