RACE REPORT: DILLION, SC – DILLION MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Written by: Ryan Heavner Racing
LINCOLNTON, NC – (May 16, 2009) This weekends race unfortunately did not work in our favor. We struggled the entire day with set-up, and being a brand new track our team has never practiced or been too made it quite a task to get a handle on.
We qualified poorly with a tight race car in 6th position. However, we choose to pull out of line and start in the rear of the field to try and make what we thought may have been some better changes to the car.
Ryan struggled for the entire 35 lap race with a tremendously tight car that he tried to just maintain and finish the race, so he could at least end up with some championship points. Coming off a win to this was disappointing, however the crew spent a lot of time Sunday going over what mistakes we thought we made in order to be better prepared for the upcoming May 30th race back at Dillon Motor Speedway.
The Charging Ryan-O brought home a disappointing 7th place finish, but with more seat time and a clean finish. Ryan was so appreciative of the fans that have supported him and his career. He wants to especially say Thank You to Mr. Kenneth A. and to the Aldridge family who took the time to spend the day with us and support the Heavner Racing team.
The next race for Ryan Heavner racing will be at Tri-County Speedway on May 22nd for the 1st National Points race.
