RACE REPORT: HUDSON, NC – TRI-COUNTY SPEEDWAY
Written by: Ryan Heavner Racing
LINCOLNTON, NC – (July 18th, 2009) The Ryan Heavner Racing Team almost brought home what should have been the 2nd victory of the season Friday night. Ryan started in the 4th position and with ten laps to go, he was sitting, ready in 2nd waiting for the right time to make his move for the lead. The top four cars ran very closely together to make for some exciting racing. 6 laps laps to go, the 3rd place car went in too deep into turn one and got into the left quarter panel of the 77 machine driving both himself and the 77 machine up the corner. The fourth place competitor was able to move to second and with no caution, we managed to bring it back home in the fourth position. That is why they call this sport racing, it is never over until the Checkered Flag drops.
One of the highlights of Friday nights racing was that Ryan got to spend a little time in his pits with Joey Lagano who was there to spectate at Tri-County. Joey signed an autograph for Ryan as well as some of the Heavners’ family members and we enjoyed getting to meet this fine young man.
