Ryan Heavner Makes Long-Anticipated Return To ARCA Series, Finishes 26th At Iowa Speedway
Heavner Returns From Iowa Speedway
(Newton, Iowa) Since the day Ryan Heavner made his 2011 ARCA Racing Series debut at Toledo Speedway, the Wes Gonder Racing driver has longed for the day he could make a second appearance. On Saturday night at Iowa Speedway Heavner got his chance, finishing 26th in the Prairie Meadows 150.
The evening started out promising for Heavner and Crew Chief Wes Gonder, as the No. 7 Viking Steel Services Chevrolet qualified 18th. Armed with a solid starting position and much anticipation, the No, 7 team seemed primed for a great evening of racing.
Once the Iowa Speedway Prairie Meadows 150 got started, however, Heavner and Gonder were tasked with repairing a mechanical issue the cost them multiple laps to the leaders. “After a good start, we faced with a mechanical problem the we were able to fix, but that set us back,” said Gonder.
